Maxwell “PlaqueBoyMax” Dent has announced his departure from FaZe Clan during a recent livestream, saying he plans to step away from group-based work to focus on his own creative initiative, 5$TAR. The 22-year-old streamer and music producer said he could not share complete details about the decision but indicated his attention is on growth and new projects.
Going independent
In a video titled “i left faze clan..,” Dent expressed appreciation for his time with FaZe, calling it “one of the best decisions” he has made. He added that he is moving forward with independent plans, saying, “I can’t fully go into depth why I’m leaving FaZe… I’m ready to… make 5$TAR the biggest possible, make myself the biggest possible.”
Several fellow creators responded to the news. YourRAGE confirmed to viewers that the announcement was genuine. At the same time, Stable Ronaldo, a frequent collaborator, said their personal friendship remains strong and that he would continue to support Dent regardless of organizational ties.
Building his own brand
The announcement comes during a period of roster changes for FaZe Clan, which also saw the recent departure of co-founder Richard “Banks” Bengston. Dent said his decision was unrelated to other exits from the organization.
By focusing on 5$TAR, Dent aims to produce content and music under his own direction, without the operational framework of a collective. Industry analysts note that such moves often allow creators greater control over branding, content strategy and partnerships.
FaZe Clan has not released a public statement regarding Dent’s exit.
