TikTok is testing an new incentive tied to its in-app commerce tools through a program called “Branded Buzz” with a total bonus pool of $10,000. The initiative is designed to encourage creators to post branded content connected to TikTok Shop campaigns, offering bonus payments in addition to existing affiliate and commission-based earnings.
How the Branded Buzz Program works
The Branded Buzz is a limited-time pool that rewards creators for producing qualifying content tied to specific TikTok Shop promotions. Creators who meet participation criteria can earn a share of a fixed bonus fund based on their submissions, rather than direct sales performance alone. Early campaigns indicate payouts are distributed among a large number of participating creators with individual earnings varying based on volume and engagement.
“Share your TikTok monetization journey–from landing your first brand deal to building stronger branded content. Tell us how you attract partnerships, improve your paid content skills, and turn creativity into consistent earnings,” TikTok wrote on its campaign.
TikTok’s strategy
TikTok Shop has continued to expand its monetization tools as it builds out its commerce ecosystem, including affiliate links, shoppable videos, and live shopping features. Together, these monetization tools are intended to lower barriers for creators experimenting with commerce content while providing brands with additional exposure.
Social platforms including TikTok have increasingly leaned on short-term incentives to encourage creator participation in new monetization formats. TikTok Shop’s use of bonus pools is intended to compete to keep creators engaged in the platform.
It remains unclear how frequently TikTok plans to run Branded Buzz campaigns or whether the structure will evolve over time.
