Reddit is recording the fastest advertising revenue growth among major social platforms, according Sensor Tower. While the company still generates less total ad revenue than larger competitors, its year-over-year growth rate has surpassed that of other platforms.
Ad revenue growth trends
Reddit’s advertising revenue is increasing at a pace that exceeds growth rates reported by peers in social media, which is $465 million, or 93% of the platform’s total revenue for the quarter. The acceleration follows several years of incremental changes to Reddit’s advertising products, including expanded targeting options and new formats designed to appeal to both brand and performance marketers.
Reddit has attributed part of its momentum to investments in advertising infrastructure and machine-learning tools. These systems are intended to improve ad placement, relevance and measurement without altering the platform’s core community-driven structure. The report also shows Reddit’s extensive archive of topic-specific discussions provides contextual signals that are increasingly valuable to advertisers seeking interest-based reach.
However, despite the growth rate, Reddit remains a smaller player in overall advertising share compared to platforms such as YouTube, Meta-owned services and TikTok.
How AI contributed to the growth
Reddit’s growth in search traffic has been driven more by its positioning as a largely human-driven discussion platform than by its use of generative AI. As AI-generated content becomes more widespread across the web, search engines such as Google have increasingly prioritized Reddit results for queries that benefit from firsthand experiences and real user opinions. In many cases, Google now explicitly surfaces Reddit threads by adding “Reddit” to suggested or auto-completed search queries.
This shift has directed more users to Reddit when searching for product reviews, troubleshooting advice and personal recommendations. Unlike many platforms experimenting heavily with AI-generated content, Reddit continues to rely primarily on user-created posts and community moderation, which search algorithms appear to treat as a signal of authenticity. The result has been an increase in search-driven visits from users seeking unfiltered, experience-based information rather than synthesized summaries. For advertisers, this trend increases the platform’s appeal to audiences arriving with clear intent, often in the research or decision-making phase.
