The National Association of Broadcasters’ famous event, the NAB Show, has been a hub for content creators for a long time. However, the 2024 edition is placing special focus on them with the introduction of the Creator Lab.Â
This new feature is described as a dedicated space for collaboration, learning and networking through various activities like panels, workshops, fireside chats and more, according to NAB.
What’s inside Creator Lab?
Sponsored by Blackmagic Design, Creator Lab will offer almost 30 sessions covering topics such as content monetization, video production processes and the impact of AI on our industry. These sessions will be led by creators and industry experts, including Marc Hustvedt, president at MrBeast YouTube.
In addition to the Creator Lab sessions, NAB Show will host several panels focused on the creator economy, featuring personalities like Casey Neistat, Scott Dunn from Doing Things Media and real estate-focused talent management company Estate Media. The Create Zone on the show floor will provide opportunities for informal education and networking.
Why focus on creators?
NAB Show recognizes creators as a significant force in media due to their direct connection with consumers and their ability to build communities. A Goldman Sachs report predicts substantial growth in the creator economy, with a projected value of $480 billion by 2027 and a significant increase in the number of content creators globally.
Robin Raskin, founder of The Virtual Events Group and a content partner for Creator Lab, highlighted the emergence of a new industry centered around creative media entrepreneurs and the infrastructure development to support them.
