Twitch is experimenting with a new subscription feature that could change how viewers support streamers during live broadcasts. The platform is testing an option called “Gift ’Em All,” which allows a single viewer to gift subscriptions to every eligible follower currently watching a stream with one purchase.

What is “Gift ’Em All?”

The feature works similarly to existing gifted subscriptions on Twitch but removes the need to select a specific number of recipients. Instead, the system automatically identifies viewers who are watching the stream, follow the channel and are not already subscribed. Those viewers can then receive a subscription at the same time through a single transaction.

During early tests, Twitch said the option appears only occasionally and in a limited number of channels as the company evaluates its performance. The experiment is currently available on desktop browsers rather than mobile.

In some cases, the feature has allowed users to gift hundreds of subscriptions at once. One example showed a viewer gifting around 200 subscriptions for roughly $998, which shows how quickly the cost can rise when many viewers are eligible.

A new twist on Twitch’s gifting culture

Gifted subscriptions have been a major part of Twitch’s ecosystem for years. Viewers often purchase them during big streaming moments to support their favorite creators while giving other users perks such as emotes, badges and ad-free viewing.

The new feature builds on that culture by making the process easier for large donors who want to support an entire community at once. Instead of repeatedly selecting batches of recipients, the system calculates the total number of eligible viewers automatically and presents a single purchase option.

This kind of mass gifting would be impactful during popular events like subathons, where creators extend their streams based on the number of new subscriptions received.
