TikTok influencer Adamn Killa (real name Adam Kelly) was arrested Monday in Chicago after interrupting a traffic stop downtown while filming content for his viral “Arrest Me, Daddy” series.
Kelly, who has more than one million followers on TikTok, became known for running up to law-enforcement officers and shouting “Arrest me, Daddy!” before performing a distinctive dance. On the day in question, he approached a police traffic stop on East Randolph Street in downtown Chicago, began his signature routine and was subsequently handcuffed and placed in a squad car for about 20 minutes. He was released without charges.
Chicago police confirmed an “investigatory stop” was recorded and made available to the public via records request. Kelly posted footage of his detention captioned “They listened,” and said he returned to filming similar videos shortly after his release.
While Kelly was not charged, the Chicago incident may attract policy attention from TikTok and local authorities regarding creator behaviour in public spaces.
