A new YouTube channel created by Technodad, the father of late Minecraft creator Technoblade, was reportedly banned just hours after it launched.
The channel, called TeamTechnoblade, went live on April 1 and was intended as a dedicated hub for Technoblade-related content, including unseen clips, memes, fan creations and community updates. According to posts shared by the team, the channel gained tens of thousands of subscribers shortly after launch, only to be suddenly removed.
TeamTechnoblade says the removal may have been automated
Following the takedown, the account’s team said they had submitted an appeal and suggested the ban may have been triggered automatically. In public posts, they speculated that the channel could have been flagged either for suspicious growth or possible impersonation, despite being run by Technoblade’s father.
“Got banned, naturally. The new channel was too powerful. Working with the YouTube overlords to get everything made right again. Hang tight, nerds,” TeamTechnoblade posted on X.
That explanation has not been confirmed by YouTube. The situation quickly drew attention from fans, who questioned why a tribute account with clear ties to Technoblade’s family would be removed so quickly after launch.
YouTube responds publicly
After the issue was raised online, TeamYouTube replied publicly and said it was looking into the matter. The support account asked the team to follow for direct-message updates, suggesting the channel’s status was under review. As of the latest public updates, YouTube had not confirmed the exact reason for the enforcement action. THe account has since been unbanned.
Another moderation flashpoint
The removal of the channel adds to ongoing scrutiny of YouTube’s moderation systems, particularly for new or fast-growing channels. In recent months, several creators have reported sudden bans, strikes or restrictions they believe were issued in error before later being reviewed or reversed.
