A viral giveaway video by content creator Zachery Dereniowski took an unexpected turn after police were called while he was handing out cash to strangers.

Dereniowski, who is known for creating videos that reward acts of kindness, was filming one of his usual giveaways when police arrived after someone reported the situation. In the video, the creator is seen approaching strangers and offering them cash gifts, a format that has become a regular part of his content.

According to Dereniowski, officers questioned him about what he was doing before determining that no laws had been broken. The interaction remained calm, and he was ultimately allowed to continue filming.

Kindness videos have built a large audience

Dereniowski has grown a following across YouTube and other social platforms through videos that combine social experiments with charitable acts. Many of his uploads involve surprising strangers, frontline workers or people facing difficult circumstances with financial gifts after brief conversations.

The creator later explained that while unexpected police interactions are uncommon, filming in public spaces can occasionally lead to misunderstandings, particularly when large sums of cash are involved.

“I just kind of, when I get the money from the content, I kind of just pour most of it back into the community,” Dereniowski said.

As more creators produce content like his in public, interactions with bystanders and law enforcement have become increasingly common. In some cases, viral stunts, giveaways or large crowds have prompted calls to local authorities, even when no criminal activity is taking place.
