The Stokes Twins have reached an agreement with Netflix that brings a selection of their YouTube video library to the streaming platform. The rollout began July 18. The collection features some of the duo’s most popular challenge and adventure videos, introducing their content to Netflix audiences beyond YouTube.
The partnership extends beyond licensing existing videos. Netflix also confirmed that it is developing a new long-form original series starring the Stokes Twins, with the project expected to premiere in 2027.
From YouTube creators to streaming partners
Alex and Alan Stokes have grown into two of YouTube’s biggest creators through large-scale challenge videos. Elaborate obstacle courses and hidden-room concepts became their signature. Their main channel has attracted more than 140 million subscribers, making them one of the platform’s largest creator brands.
According to Netflix, the twins began making videos as teenagers after moving to the United States from China. They described the partnership as a “full-circle moment” after years of building an audience online.
“There were moments where we didn’t have a home, and when we first came to America, we didn’t even know how to speak the language. A camera became the way we connected with people before we fully had the words,” the twins said.
Netflix continues investing in creators
Over the past year, the company has worked with YouTube creators including Mark Rober, Alix Earle, Jordan Matter and Salish Matter. Rather than producing traditional television formats, Netflix has increasingly looked to established digital creators with large online audiences.
Licensing the twins’ YouTube catalog while commissioning an original series covers both ends of that strategy. For the Stokes Twins, it puts their work in front of viewers who may never open YouTube.
