Having reached 328,205 subscribers, VTuber Ironmouse has broken all previous records to become the most subscribed streamer on Twitch. This accomplishment breaks Kai Cenat’s record, which has 306,621 subscribers. Ironmouse’s rise to the top happened during her month-long subathon, a livestreaming event that raises money for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, a cause close to her heart.

Breaking records and raising funds

Known for her energetic personality, Ironmouse attracted thousands of viewers over her 30-day livestream. Given that she has a common variable immunodeficiency, this is her third annual subathon in support of the Immune Deficiency Foundation. She has shattered her own subscription records every year, and this year was no exception.

She rose to the top of the female Twitch streamers list in 2022, and by 2023, she had amassed 205,488 subscribers. She chose to hold her subathon this year during SUBtember on Twitch, which gave viewers discounts while still allowing her to get paid in full for each subscription. After going live, she got 12,000 subscribers in just a few minutes.

“Words cannot express how I am feeling nor can they express my gratitude. Thank you all so much for the incredible support,” Ironmouse tweeted after the event. Her goal is to give the Immune Deficiency Foundation half of her earnings, which is about $561,750.

A competitive streaming space

Streamers on Twitch frequently compete for the top rankings on this very competitive platform. Former subscription record holder Kai Cenat praised Ironmouse but teased a possible comeback. “W Ironmouse, you know what I’m saying?” Cenat said, promising his fans he would return to reclaim the record.

The VTuber community as a whole and Ironmouse herself have both accomplished a great deal with this accomplishment. It demonstrates how creators are still breaking down barriers on the platform, whether they are displaying their animated avatars or real faces.
