Brazilian YouTuber Casemiro Miguel has secured the rights to stream all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on his platform, CazéTV. This deal gives Brazilian fans free access to the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
CazéTV’s coverage of the World Cup
CazéTV, operated by Miguel in partnership with agency LiveMode, will offer extensive coverage of the 2026 World Cup. Miguel will serve as the lead host, with former football players, content creators and pundits joining the broadcasts. Aside from the live match coverage, CazéTV will feature behind-the-scenes content and post-match analysis, providing fans with a well-rounded viewing experience.
Traditional broadcasts remain
While CazéTV will stream all 104 matches, traditional broadcasters are still involved. TV Globo, Brazil’s leading TV network, will continue to air the World Cup as it has done since 1970. This setup is similar to the 2022 World Cup, when TV Globo broadcasted the main coverage, while CazéTV streamed a select number of matches.
Alternative broadcasts gaining popularity
Miguel’s deal follows the growing popularity of alternative sports broadcasts led by digital creators. In the U.S., figures such as Dude Perfect and the Manning brothers have provided alternative commentary for NFL games. Similarly, content creators like Jesser and Alex Cooper have gained attention for their broadcasts in basketball and the Olympics. This approach, which offers fans a different type of viewing experience, is now making its way into soccer.
The CazéTV deal emphasizes the increasing demand for creator-driven content in sports broadcasting. During the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, CazéTV saw significant growth in YouTube subscribers, outperforming major football clubs. As more viewers opt for personalized and interactive content, platforms like CazéTV are positioning themselves as key players in the future of sports broadcasting.
Additionally, many livestream are hoping for sports broadcasting to loosen their restrictions on streamers broadcasting live games on their channels. Hopefully, for them, this is the step in the right direction.
