Mobile creators have a new lighting option. Godox launched the Godox Litemons SR20R, an LED panel built to frame a smartphone. It adds adjustable white light and color effects to a compact setup.
Unlike the round ring lights you may picture, the SR20R uses a rectangular frame that surrounds the phone. Godox aims it at mobile-first work such as vlogging, livestreaming and short-form video.
The light offers full RGB color and 14 preset effects. White light runs from 2800K to 6500K. You can change settings with the built-in controls or a smartphone app over Bluetooth.
A few details worth knowing
Godox designed the light around smartphones and compact camera systems. With the right mounting accessories, it may also support a few other cameras. That helps if you shoot on more than one device.
Inside sits a 4,800 mAh rechargeable battery. Godox estimates about 90 minutes of use at full brightness, so plan around that for longer shoots. A USB-C recharge takes about 2 hours 20 minutes.
The panel measures about 11.4 x 1.6 x 8.7 inches (290 x 40 x 220 mm) and weighs about 22 oz (623 g). Built-in kickstands and three 1/4-inch threads give you several ways to set it up.
At $89, it sits at the affordable end of dedicated lighting. It still offers more than basic white light.
Need creative lighting on the go?
Even when the camera is a phone, lighting can change a video’s vibe, and getting it right matters. The SR20R pairs a phone-friendly frame with control over color and temperature. That gives you another way to shape your look or set a mood.
It won’t replace a full lighting kit, and the battery limits long runs at maximum brightness. Still, if you want to try colored light without building a bigger studio rig, it’s worth a look.
What we think
The SR20R is a smart pitch for phone shooters. Color and temperature control live in one small panel, and the kickstands and mounting threads mean it works on a desk or a tripod. We haven’t tested it, so we can’t speak to color accuracy or how well the Bluetooth controls hold up.
For video shooters, the 90-minute runtime is the number to watch. Keep a USB-C power bank handy for longer interviews or livestreams.
Pricing and availability
Godox lists a suggested price of $89 for the SR20R. Prices vary by region because of taxes and VAT. Check Godox or your favorite retailer for stock in your area.
