To enable the loop feature on a desktop, follow the steps below.

  • Open your preferred internet browser
  • Go to YouTube
  • On the YouTube homepage, search for a video you want to loop or select a suggested video
  • After selecting a video, right-click or control-click in the player to pull up display options
  • Select ‘Loop.’ A checkmark will appear after enabling the feature

  • On the video you’re looping, right-click or control-click inside the player to pull up display options
  • Reselect ‘Loop.’ The checkmark will disappear, indicating you’ve disabled the feature

  • Open your preferred internet browser
  • Go to YouTube
  • Search for a creator you like or a topic you’re interested in
  • On the search results page, select the filters button
  • After selecting the filters button, a menu will pop up with five different filters. Look at the list under ‘Type’
  • Under ‘Type,’ select ‘Playlist’
  • After selecting ‘Playlist,’ many playlist options will appear. Choose one you would like to loop
  • Once you select a playlist, a menu for the playlist will appear on the right
  • Near the top left corner of the playlist menu, you will find the loop button
  • Select the loop button. After you enable the feature, the button will appear bolded

How to disable the loop feature for YouTube playlists

  • In the playlist menu, select the loop button in the left corner
  • After selecting the loop button, the button will no longer appear bold. This means that the loop feature is no longer enabled

How to loop a YouTube playlist on a mobile device

  • Open the YouTube app
  • Search for a creator or topic you want to watch
  • On the search result page, select the three vertical dots in the upper right corner 
  • ‘Search filters’ will appear at the bottom; select it
  • Select the ‘Type’ filter
  •  Under ‘Type,’ select ‘Playlist’
  • Tap the back button in the top left corner
  • Select a playlist
  • The playlist will begin playing; locate the loop button under the player on the left
  • Tap the loop button once to loop the entire playlist or tap twice to loop just the current video. When selecting to loop the entire playlist, the button will appear bold. When selecting to loop the current video you’re watching, the number ‘1’ will appear on the button

  • To stop looping a video playlist on mobile, select the loop button under the video currently playing
  • Tap the loop button until the button is either not bold or doesn’t display the number’ 1.’
