Tech content creator Enderman has accused YouTube of wrongfully terminating his main channel after its automated systems allegedly linked it to another account that had been penalized. His channel, which had over 350,000 subscribers, was removed without warning, wiping years of archived content.

The cause of the termination

Enderman said the termination occurred after YouTube’s AI enforcement tools identified a connection between his main English-language channel and a secondary non-English account that had received strikes. Enderman added that he does not have any knowledge of the existence of said account. He claims there was no prior communication or review process before the removal. Attempts to contact creator support reportedly went unanswered.

“These 9 years will always remain dear to me. All the connections I’ve made, all the fun I’ve had making the videos. This is not going down the drain. The only hope for this YouTube channel is a divine human intervention amidst all the AI business,” Enderman posted on X.

YouTube has yet to issue a public response or clarification on how its enforcement system determines links between multiple accounts.

Thankfully Enderman’s account was eventually reinstated. However, the creator still worries what this means for the future if YouTube continues to use AI to enforce it policies.

Concerns on AI moderation tools

The case has added to ongoing concerns among creators about automated moderation on large platforms. Many argue that the increased reliance on AI systems introduces a risk of technical errors that can jeopardize entire channels.

Advocates for digital creators continue to push for more transparency in enforcement processes, suggesting that platforms provide manual verification before issuing permanent bans. While YouTube has previously stated that automation is key to managing policy compliance at scale, creators are calling for clearer safeguards and improved communication when errors occur.
