Beyond headline-grabbing deals, platforms also use smaller gestures to recognize creator success. YouTube has long set the standard with its iconic subscriber plaques, celebrating milestones that mark a creator’s growth. Spotify, now competing more directly with YouTube in the video podcast space, recently introduced its own version of the creator plaque.
And in a more unusual move, Instagram launched a new recognition program last month, awarding golden rings.
Now, TikTok is following suit with the announcement of its first U.S. awards ceremony, designed to celebrate content creators on the platform across various categories, including beauty, fashion, sports and education. The event is scheduled for December 18, 2025, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and will stream live on TikTok.
Ceremony details & nomination process
The inaugural U.S. TikTok Awards operate under the theme “New Era, New Icons” and will present live performances alongside award presentations. Notable nominees in the “Creator of the Year” category include social-media personalities such as Alix Earle, Adam W, Brooke Monk, Keith Lee and Kristy Sarah. The “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” category features musicians with strong TikTok presence, including Alex Warren, Laufey and others. Fan voting will be available through the TikTok app from November 18 to December 2.
“Premiering the TikTok Awards in the US marks the start of a new era for our community — honoring creators who’ve turned passion into purpose across every category,” Tiktok said in its blog post.
In addition to core creator awards, TikTok’s feature areas will be recognized through special categories. TikTok Shop will present the “Immediately Added to Cart” Award, honoring a creator whose storytelling inspires purchases and embodies the “TikTok made me buy it” trend. CapCut and TikTok LIVE will also highlight creators through dedicated awards celebrating creativity, innovation and community engagement.
