Spotify’s revamped Partner Program, launched last month, is already delivering significant benefits to creators. The program offers multiple revenue streams, including audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement and ad monetization on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.

The new program’s success

In just one month, video podcast consumption on Spotify has increased by over 20%. The top 20 video podcasts eligible for the program have seen an average consumption rise of 24% since December. Additionally, creator payouts have quadrupled year-over-year, with hundreds of creators earning at least $10,000 since the program’s inception. Some top performers have even reached six-figure earnings.

Notable successes include Chris Williamson’s “Modern Wisdom,” which experienced a 36% month-over-month consumption increase, and Devorah Roloff’s “We’re All Insane,” which saw exponential viewership growth after adding video content. The “Kinda Funny Gamecast,” led by veteran games journalists, also achieved an all-time high in consumption.

Spotify’s CEO, Daniel Ek, highlighted these positive outcomes, noting that since the program’s launch, video podcast views have risen by more than 20%, and hundreds of podcasters are now earning over $10,000 monthly, with some top creators earning even more.

“Since launching in January, video podcast views are up more than 20%, and hundreds of podcasters are now making $10K+ a month (and some of the biggest ones are pulling in 10x that). That’s a 300% growth in Spotify payouts to networks and creators year over year.  Shoutout to all the podcasters experimenting with new formats and reaching new fans!” Ek said in a tweet.

The Partner Program’s early success indicates that Spotify’s investment in video podcasts is paying off.
