Twitch streamer Carter Efe experienced a frightening moment during a recent livestream after a magician’s demonstration unexpectedly ignited a fire inside his streaming studio.
The incident occurred while Carter Efe was hosting a magician as part of a collaborative broadcast. During the stream, the magician attempted to perform a fire-based illusion using a lit torch; however, the stunt quickly went off script when flames spread beyond the intended prop and caught nearby items on fire.
Clips from the broadcast show the room descending into chaos as those present realized the fire was real. Efe could be seen jumping away from the flames while others rushed to extinguish the blaze before it had a chance to spread throughout the studio.
Although the moment alarmed both the participants and viewers watching live, the fire was eventually put out without any reported injuries.
Livestream viewers initially questioned whether the incident was real
As clips of the accident began circulating across social media, many viewers initially assumed the fire was part of the performance itself, given that the mishap occurred during a magician’s act and the fact that a similar incident had happened in 2025.
Despite the disruption, the stream was able to continue after the situation was brought under control, allowing viewers to see the aftermath and reactions from those involved.
Creator broadcasts continue pushing production boundaries
Livestreams have evolved beyond simple webcam broadcasts, with many creators incorporating increasingly elaborate productions, challenges, stunts and live demonstrations designed to entertain viewers in real time.
While most of these events are carefully planned and include safety precautions, unexpected accidents occasionally occur due to the unpredictable nature of live content. Over the years, creators have dealt with everything from technical failures and property damage to medical scares and outdoor mishaps while broadcasting.
