Meta has introduced a new monetization feature for Facebook Stories, allowing creators to earn revenue based on the views their Stories receive. This update is part of Meta’s ongoing efforts to enhance creator engagement and diversify income streams on the platform.

How to participate

To participate, creators must be enrolled in Facebook’s Content Monetization program. Once enrolled, they can start earning from their Stories by ensuring their content is set to public. This approach encourages creators to share more widely accessible content, potentially increasing viewer engagement and earnings.

Meta’s monetization tools

This development aligns with Meta’s broader strategy to simplify and expand monetization opportunities for creators. In October 2024, Meta launched the Facebook Content Monetization beta, which consolidated existing programs like In-stream ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance Bonus into a single, streamlined system. This unified approach allows creators to earn from various content formats, including Reels, longer videos, photos and text posts, without navigating multiple programs.

The addition of Stories to the monetization suite not only provides creators with more avenues to earn but also encourages the sharing of diverse content types. By making Stories publicly available, creators can reach a broader audience, enhancing both visibility and potential revenue.

For creators not yet part of the Content Monetization program, Meta offers the opportunity to apply through the platform’s website.
